WINECUP

 

 

This little flower has been showing itself off in my front flower bed for over ten years.  It is a sprawling perennial {Poppy Mallow} that comes back every year with no effort on my part.  It is sometimes listed as a wildflower. You don't even know it is working overtime to perform until one morning you look down there close to the ground and there are all of these beautiful wine colored cup shaped beauties.

The flowers are very delicate and open for the daytime as if saying "Good Morning" and then close in the evening to get a good night's rest after a good day's work.
